Tobacco Prevention and Control

Building healthy, tobacco-free communities

NACDD is dedicated to supporting tobacco use, prevention, and control efforts across states and territories to reduce tobacco-related health outcomes.

Tobacco use is a leading cause of preventable chronic diseases including cancer, heart disease, and lung disease.

NACDD collaborates with State and Territorial Health Departments to implement evidence-based and promising practice-based strategies to reduce tobacco use and promote smoke-free living environments for all individuals. Learn more about NACDD’s current tobacco-related initiatives:

Note: When NACDD refers to tobacco on this web page, we are referring to the use of commercial tobacco products and not the sacred and traditional use of tobacco by some American Indian communities.
