Who We Are
The Cancer Council includes more than 430 Members from CDC’s four national programs:
The Council welcomes all cancer program staff, including but not limited to program directors, managers, coordinators, epidemiologists, evaluators, and communicators. Any program staff working within a cancer program are automatically Cancer Council Members.
What We Do
Cancer program staff join the Cancer Council to share their knowledge and experiences addressing cancer prevention and control. They identify emerging issues, problem-solve, and share best cancer prevention and control practices.
The Cancer Council provides:
- Leadership and professional development
- National webinars on emerging topics
- Mentoring
- Opportunities to participate in workgroup discussions
- Nationwide network of cancer program staff
Leadership
The Cancer Council is led by a Leadership Team with an Executive Committee, a Steering Committee, and representation from our national partners: CDC’s Division of Cancer Prevention and Control and the National Cancer Institute.
